This is a great opportunity to give something back to your community by sharing your skills and knowledge, and a great way to meet new people. The Families Together Suffolk Board of Trustees meet 4-5 times per year, spending around three hours per week on their duties.

Your Role As A Trustee
- Strategic Guidance: Help shape our organization's strategic direction, ensuring that our services align with our mission and the needs of the families we serve.
- Governance: Provide oversight and ensure that our charity operates transparently, ethically, and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Advocacy: Advocate for our cause, building partnerships, and raising awareness to mobilize resources and support.
What We're Looking For:
We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds, and we value fresh perspectives. While experience in governance or the nonprofit sector is a plus, it's not a prerequisite. What matters most is your passion for our mission and your commitment to making a positive impact on families in our community.

- Management skills
- Financial knowledge and budgeting
- Experience of accessing funding and grants for charities
- Using creative ways to raise income through marketing/fundraising
- Good communication skills
- Experience of strategic and financial planning
- Awareness of confidentiality, equality and diversity
- Health and safety
- Awareness of Charity Commission requirements and good governance procedures
- An understanding and appreciation of children’s and families changing needs.
